Obituary of Sam Ambrosio

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Salvatore ‘Sam’ Ambrosio on November 10, 2023. Reunited with his loving wife, Emilia, of 46 years. Cherished father to Domenico (Rosalia), Vincenzo, and Manuela. Adoring Nonno to Luca and Matteo, and also reunited with his parents, Domenico and Rosa. Will be dearly missed by his siblings Joe (Mena), Giovanni (Maria), and Franco (Elisa).

He will be fondly remembered by all his extended family members and friends.

He proudly opened his restaurant, Brigantino, which was the very first restaurant opened on Erie Street, in 1984, and spent many years serving his community. As the owner, he wore several hats, and delighted in entertaining his guests, even with a song and his guitar.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (3084 Dougall Ave) on Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 3-5pm and 6-9pm, with parish prayers at 4:30pm. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 10am, with procession to St. Angela Merici Church (980 Louis Ave) for the Funeral Mass at 11am. Committal prayers to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
