Obituary of John Anthony Grant

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of John on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at the age of 83 years. Survived by his devoted wife Evelyn Grant with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Cherished children John (Sue) Grant and Sherry Grant. Adored grandpa to Johnny (Katie) Grant, Shannon (Jason) Emery, the late Krissie-Lynn Grant. Loving great grandpa to Emma and Zoey Emery, Aubrey and Gavin Grant. Predeceased by loving parents Harold and Josephine Grant. Survived by siblings Kathleen (late Chuck) Wall, Mary (Bob) Knight, Barb (late Sheldon) Wall, Loretta (Albert) Vriesacker, Ann (Hector) Barette, Pat (Mike) Zdunich, Gary (late Nancy) Grant, Harold (Peggy) Grant, Walker (Loreen) Grant, and predeceased by brother Joseph Grant. John was an avid hunter, season ticket holder to The Detroit Red Wings, huge fan of NASCAR with Dale Earnhardt Sr. being his favourite driver. John would attend The Daytona 500 every year. John and Evelyn could be found in Florida 6 months out of the year, they loved to travel together. John was a family-oriented man. He was employed with National Auto Radiator for 32 years, and was an avid union rep, John was Plant Chairman for 15+ years. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Chevalier for going above and beyond providing exceptional care to John. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel 11677 Tecumseh Rd E. (519-253-7235) on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 from 6-9pm. Visitation will continue at the Funeral Home on Friday, November 10th, 2023 at 10:30am until time of service at 12:30pm. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
