Obituary of Antonio "Tony" De Sousa
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving and devoted family on November 5, 2023, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 63 wonderful years to Deolinda. Cherished father of Maria Sequeira (Vitor) and Amelia Seixas (Tom). Proud Avo Tony of Lisa Lucier (Adam), Laura Belanger (Jeremy), Trevor Seixas, Nathan Sequeira, Tyler Seixas (Samantha), and Avozinho of Ava, Ellie, Bo, Alex, Vera and Jack. Reunited with his parents Manuel and Maria. Survived by his sister Rita of Portugal. Predeceased by siblings Jose, Joao, Teresa, Avelino, Rosa and Maria. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews and extended family in Canada and Portugal.
Tony was a social butterfly, and was actively involved with the Portuguese Club - Casa do Espirito Santo of Windsor. He was a proud member of Terceira Idade, where he created many lifelong bonds and friendships. Above all, family was Tony’s pride and joy. Nothing made him happier than seeing his family gather for dinner or at family functions. Tony’s eyes would light up at the mention of his grandchildren. He was truly born to be a father and grandfather.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home -Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Parish Prayers 4:30 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 10:00 am until time of procession to St. Anne’s Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Anne’s Cemetery.
