Obituary of Phillip Young

YOUNG, Phillip Passed away peacefully with family by his side on November 1, 2023, at the age of 81. Beloved husband and best friend to Frances for 58 years. Cherished Dad of Chris and wife Michelle, and Katharine and husband Josiah. Adored Grandpa of Emily, Maddie, Gavin, Ellis and Elijah. Phill was born on December 27, 1941 in Winnipeg to parents Charles and Doris Young. Much loved brother in law of Joe Pearn (Gloria), June Pearn (Ron Vincent) and Ruth Myers. He will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and close friends throughout Canada and abroad. Greatly missed by his extended family Roger and Elia Lauzon, Helen (late Ken) Lemmon, and the Lauzon, Hettrick, and Oldfield families. Phill earned a Pharmacy degree from the University of Manitoba in 1964, and went on to obtain an MBA from the University of Toronto. A lifelong entrepreneur, he was the proud owner of Mayfair Shoes in Edmonton, AB for 32 years. For the past 15 years, Phill and Frances have been happily retired in Tecumseh, ON. He will be always loved, never forgotten, and forever missed Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, November 6, 2023, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at 10am until the time of Funeral Service at 11am. Cremation to follow.
