Obituary of Donald Long

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Ross Long, who passed away October 25 2023, at the age of 91. Don was a loving husband to Nida (nee Santin); father to Terri (Scott), Wendy (John), Cathy (Terry), Michael (Lora), and Mark (Joelle). Proud grandfather to Brent (Holly), Jocelyn (Stephane), Taylor, Samantha, Nicole, Bryan (Sarah), Carissa (Eric), Michael (Paiten), Gianna, Jessica, and Eric. Don also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.

Don was born to Elsie (nee Savage) and Horace and proud brother to five older siblings. Together, Don and Nida enjoyed 62 years of marriage. Don also had a vibrant work history at Trustcon Steel, at Fiberglass Canada Ltd., and after retirement, at Big V. Pharmacy and Southwood Golf course.

A sincere thank you to the devoted staff at The Villages of St. Clair, who cared for and watched over Don during his later years.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (Central chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E (519-253-7234) on Wednesday, November 1st 2023 from 1:00pm until time of memorial service at 3:00pm.
