Obituary of Anna Salvi
SALVI, Anna
It is with profound sadness that the family of Anna Salvi announce her peaceful passing on October 22, 2023, at the age of 88 surrounded by the love of her family.
Devoted wife to Luigi (Gino) with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage. Mom will be dearly missed by her 3 daughters: Manuela Brisebois (Raymond), Manola Salvi (Michael LaFontaine), Serena Hillman (Darren). She was the proud Nonna to Eric Brisebois (Megan), Jessica Coughlin (Adam) and Steffan Brisebois (Allison). Adoring Bis-Nonna to Anna, Lucy, Charlotte, Raymond, Jack, Michael, and Henry. Sister to Joseph Suardi (Josette) of Toulouse, France, and Anne-Marie Dentella (Patrick) of Collioure, France. She will be dearly missed by her cherished baby boy - Bobby - a Maltese mom and dad lovingly took home after a winter in Florida.
Mom was born in Bergamo, Italy on November 27, 1934. Predeceased by her parents - Batista Acquaroli (1978) and Maria (Piantoni) Acquaroli (1980).
After many years living in Italy, Switzerland and France, mom and dad immigrated to Canada across the Atlantic on the Cunard - Queen Mary with 2 young girls in tote with only suitcases in hand. Challenges awaited them as they arrived in Montreal, Quebec to begin a new life and soon after - a third daughter. Years later they moved to Windsor, ON where they rooted their family for more than 50 years.
Mom's love for her family ran deep. Family was everything to her. She was affectionately known as Nonna to the many friends of her children and grandchildren; and she treated them like her own.
Mom showed her love in many ways but most notably through her incredible cuisine. So many delectable meals will surely never be recreated. She had a strong faith that never waivered. She enjoyed travelling with dad and embracing new cultures. Together with Dad, she enjoyed many adventurous vacations throughout the world visiting countries across Asia, South America, and Europe. Travelling throughout Canada and visiting 50 of the US states in the motorhome; with her navigating skills (old school maps instead of GPS) taking them to wonderful places where they made cherished memories and friends along the way. This planted the seed in her children and grandchildren to see the world and learn new cultures. Her favourite times were spent with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren flourish.
We would like to thank the Ouellette Campus ER staff - Dr. Thomas, Dr. Jacobs, and the incredible nursing staff for their compassionate care of our mom throughout this journey.
