Mrs Vandersluys was one of the favourite teachers! I learned more interesting facts from her then I did in my elective history classes in University. Information I still cherish and remember today. We shared a love a history and had lots of laughs. She was such a soft spoken, kind and thoughtful women. My deepest of condolences to her family and friends. Sheila

As a life-long history nerd, I very much enjoyed having Mrs. Vandersluys as my history teacher for 2 years at F.J. Brennan High School. She was so knowledgeable about the subject, and had the gift of being able to teach what she knew clearly and with good humour. I especially enjoyed the class trip to the Royal Ontario Museum in Grade 11 to see the King Tut exhibit. Rest in peace, Pat, and thank you for everything.

I absolutely loved her! Mrs. Vandersluys was always so nice to me! We shared a love of history. She was the one, and only teacher who ever defended me from the homophobia of my classmates at Brennan. Boy she could spill out the info on those chalkboards! The whole room was full! I would wonder if she would ever stop writing! She was a lovely person. So happy that I was able to have such an incredible teacher like her. My condolences to her friends and family.

Mrs. Vandersluys was a smart, gentle and thoughtful person, and one of my favourite teachers. We kept in touch these past 26 years since my graduation, and I'm so saddened to hear of her passing. My condolences to Casper, Mark and her entire family. She was such a caring and lovely woman!

After teaching with Pat for many years at Brennan , I came to know her as a caring and honest person. She always had a smile and engaging spirit.
