For the many years that the Korean War Veterans Memorial took place at the Korean War Veterans Memorial in Dieppe Park (Windsor, Ontario) - held on the 27th July each year, Bernie's presence made a significant impact where our community of families of all diversities gathered to honour the memory of our fallen who stood to preserve the integrity of freedom/democracy and to safeguard those fundamental liberties for the Republic of South Korea - "the land of the morning calm". Moreso, at the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) Remembrance Service held November 4, 2019 where Bernie presented the wreath (made front page of the Windsor Star) standing with members of our Canadian Armed Forces. On Sunday mornings, for several years, I always chatted with Bernie before 9 o’clock mass started at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He was always so engaging and often opened up about his time in Korea. He often had Rachel with him and I could tell how much she loved her grandfather. Since COVID, I’ve missed those conversations, but will always cherish them. Rest in peace dear friend, Gerry Pocock

Jill & Mike and the families - Bob and I remember Mr Cote so fondly with his witty humour and willingness to share words of advice and his handyman skills. We will miss him dearly but we are blessed to have known him so well.

Dear Aunt Bea & Family, Our deepest sympathies to all of you at this very difficult time, please know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Dear Cote Family: I am deeply sorry for your loss. Bernie is at Peace residing in Heaven above. Heaven will be challenged by Uncle Bernie with a never ending sence of Humour and Jokes. Seriously, a man of good deeds assisting fellow neighbors and friends. I worked with him 5 years at Detroit Canada Tunnel, and he and his family were good friends to my parents. Bernie worked and helped out my Dad, Anacleto D'Alessandro. Omg, the tricks he played on me at the tunnel. I worked with Michael as well. Uncle Bernie will be remembered for his sence of humour, smile, and laughter. God Bless Bernie and his family, as you are all in my thoughts and prayers.
