In Loving Memory of Alice Gloria Reed

Alice Gloria Reed, beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on September 11, 2023, to join her loved ones who had gone before her.

Born Alice Gloria Higdon, she was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth and Gordon Edward Higdon. Alice was one of 11 siblings, sharing her upbringing with her 10 brothers and sisters. She treasured her family deeply, and her childhood was filled with love, laughter, and the bonds of siblinghood.

Alice was predeceased by her brothers Gordon and David, as well as her sisters Marie and Elaine (Mervin), and her sister-in-law Tena. While they are no longer with us in the physical sense, their memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved them.

She is survived by her brothers Selby (Mable), Pleman, and Clifford (Pauline), and her sisters Melva (Brian), Bernadine (Alistair), and Loretta. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Margaret. Alice's family was a testament to the strength of their bonds, and her legacy will continue through these cherished relationships.

Alice was a dedicated and loving mother to her four children: Tina Martin (Chad), Charles Reed (Lorna), David Reed (who preceded her in death), and Thomas Edward Reed (Christine). She found immense joy and fulfillment in raising her children and was a guiding light in their lives.

Alice was a doting grandmother to six grandchildren: Crystal, Dean, Dylan, Memphis, Peyton, and Oliver. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, and she was a source of warmth and affection for her grandchildren. She was also a great-grandmother to Carter, Chase, Kayle, and Damian, and their presence brought her immense joy and happiness.

Alice's greatest passion in life was her family. She dedicated herself to spending as much time as possible with her grand and great-grandchildren. Her face would light up with a radiant smile in their presence, and the love she shared with them was immeasurable. Her family was her heart and soul, and her legacy of love, devotion, and family values will live on through the generations to come.

At Alice's request, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Sunday, September 17, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and on Monday, September 18, 2023, from 9:30 AM until Celebration of Alice's life at 11:00 AM in the Chapel.
