Obituary of Julia Catherine Banda (nee Buttl)
Entered peacefully into God’s hands on September 6, 2023 at the age of 90 years. Predeceased by her husband Daniel Banda (1991) and John Welacky (1959). Loving mother to Christine Punga (Preston), Daniel Welacky (Paula), David Banda (Jill), Diane Dalrymple (Kelly) and Sheila Bennett. Dear grandma to Michael, Nicholas, Kathryn, Chelsey, Jonathan, Julia, Sara, Krista, Drew, Tom, Ryan and Jordan. Great grandmother to Aryanna and Carson. Predeceased by her parents George and Catherine Buttl, her sister Mary Wilhelm (Adam) and her brother Frank Buttl (Mary). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Julia touched the lives of many and will be missed by all who knew her. Julia retired from Hotel Dieu Grace Hospital, and was a devoted member of Most Precious Blood Church and the Catholic Women’s League. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel (Central Chapel), 1700 Tecumseh Road East (519-253-7234) on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers Friday at 4:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at Most Precious Blood Church, 1947 Meldrum Road on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. to the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
