Obituary of Marie Jacqueline Drouillard-Sannes

DROUILLARD-SANNES, Marie Jacqueline ("Jackie") Albertine, R.N. Passed peacefully after a courageous struggle with cancer, into eternal life July 23, 2008 in Surrey B.C. in her 67th year, with her loving husband, Alf, at her side. She will be sadly missed by her children Alf Robert Sannes, Eric Sannes (Maggie), Karen Rilkoff (Jack), Christine Sannes, Keith Sannes, Per David Sannes, sister-in-law Gerd Carpenter, as well as her special 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings Suzanne Drouillard, Andrea Van Wezel (Leo), Michael Drouillard (Nora), Yvette Drouillard, and Vincent Drouillard (Mercedes). She leaves behind 8 nieces and nephews and 1 great niece. Jackie was predeceased by her loving parents Norman and Corinne Drouillard and in-laws Alfhild and Sverre Sannes, as well as by her sister Denise Drouillard and brother-in-law Vincent Carpenter. She had a special love for her kitties Sweetie, Pinky and Pumpkin. Jackie touched the lives of many and had an array of friends from all walks of life, especially Anne Toupin, Eileen Garvey, Debbie Zimmerman and the "Montreal Group". Jackie's 40 year nursing career brought her to serve in many community hospitals in Windsor, Montreal, and Vancouver, dedicating herself in nursing, compassionately caring for others, making a difference in the lives of everyone she met and lovingly called "Mother" by all nurses at mount Saint Joseph Hospital in Surrey where she worked for 27 years. Visiting at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. East on Wednesday, July 30, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Wednesday 8:30 p.m. Relatives and friends will be received at St. John Vianney Church (385 Dieppe Street at Cedarview) on Thursday, July 31, 2008 for visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, it is the family's request that donations be made to the Building Fund of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Parish (Surrey B.C.) where she was an active member, to Laurel Place Hospice (Surrey Memorial Hospital), or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
