FAIRLEY, Rita Marie (nee Leblanc)
Passed away peacefully at home on August 19, 2023 at the age of 90. Daughter of the late Joseph and Leonie Leblanc. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Donald Fairley (2021) for over 69 years. Loving mother of Neil Fairley, David Fairley (Susan), Colleen McRae (Brian), Gary Fairley, the late Donald Fairley, Carol-Anne Parsons, Mae Monforton (Ron) and the late Anne Marie Fairley. Cherished meme to Joel Poirier (Courtney), Jessica Paluca (Mikel), Rhiannon Fairley (Mike), J.D. Parsons, Craig Parsons (Kaitlyn), Stephanie Fairley, Adam Fairley, Heather Parsons (Chris), Nolan Fairley and Kallen Fairley. Dear great-meme to Jordan, Kalynn, Lyla, Elliana, Aubrey, Bradley, Adrian, D’Andre and Nora. Sister of Marguerite (late Jim), late Roland (Monique), late Janet (late Spike), late Leo (late Mary), late Roger (Cathy), Marcella (Bob), Virginia (Roy), Aline (late Ferd), Gloria (late Ken), Noella (late Lynn) and Connie (Bill). Rita and Donald were life-long friends of the late Elaine and late Gerry Thompson, Ken and Mary Lou Bezaire, Wonita and the late Russ Desautelle, Frank and Ginni McNicholis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and the Fairley family. Don and Rita opened their hearts and home to many foster children over the years. Rita was an active member of the Catholic Women’s League (CWL) and the Alzheimer’s Society. She was also an avid and passionate fan of hockey and baseball. The family would like to give a special thanks to Amy, Amber and Dawn from Saint Elizabeth Health Care, for their kindness and compassionate care.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – Banwell Location, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor (519-253-7235), from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with parish prayers and the Knights of Columbus service starting at 7:30 p.m. Family and Friends are invited to gather directly on Thursday, August 24, 2023, at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 1688 Essex County Rd. 46, for the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. John the Evangelist Cemetery.
