Obituary of Melba Marie Laforest

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at the age of 76. Dear wife of Ken for 52 years. Loving mother to Jason (Stephanie) and Jayme (Brooke). Cherished grandma to Danica and Brendan. Beloved sister to Vi, Ed, Al, Ray, Don, and reunited with Vee, Del, Ettie and her parents Joseph and Bertha Hachey .

Melba loved to travel, especially to Hawaii where she spent many vacations with family over the years. She enjoyed being outside, taking walks everyday with friends and family and swinging on her swing in the backyard. She would often head out to browse through the aisles of nearby stores, happy to find deals and hidden gems. In everything she did, she always thought of her children and grandchildren, and loved her family above all else.

A Memorial Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E (519-253-7234) on Friday, August 18th 2023 from 2-5pm. Per Melba’s wishes, visitors are asked to dress casually and comfortably, especially jeans, her go to. In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to either the Canadian Cancer Society or The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
