Obituary of Jagdish Garcha

GARCHA- Jagdish Kaur 

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sardarni Jagdish Kaur Garcha (formerly
Khaira) which took place on the night of August 9, 2023. In her last moments, she was peaceful
and surrounded by loved ones.
Jagdish Kaur was born in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, to S. Bakhtawar Singh and Gurdev Kaur
Khaira and later became an older sister to Tajinder Kaur. She lived a life full of travelling,
whether it was to the mountains of Shimla, the bustling streets of Chandigarh or the sandy
beaches of Mexico. An intelligent and sharp woman, she completed her Bachelor of Arts from
Punjab University and was passionate about her studies in political science and economics. At
the age of 23, she married S. Sukhdev Singh Garcha, an organic chemistry professor from Pind
Dhandari Kalan. They shared a loving marriage filled with respect and continuous support for
one another. The couple shared three wonderful children, Gurpreet Kaur Gill (wife to Sukhdeep
Singh Gill), Jaswant Singh Garcha (husband to Jasjit Kaur Garcha) and Jagroop Singh Garcha
(husband to Gurpreet Kaur Garcha). She happily raised her children and after coming to Canada
in 2006, she had the pleasure of watching her grandchildren grow up. She leaves behind six
beautiful grandchildren: Avneet Kaur, Aneil Kaur, Chenaab Singh, Guntas Kaur, Puneet Singh
and Sahib Singh. Her legacy will continue to inspire and bring warmth to the hearts of all who
knew her. She will always have a special and irreplaceable place in our hearts.
The funeral arrangements are as follows:
On Sunday, August 13, prayers and visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral
Home (3048 Dougall Ave., Windsor). Prayers will happen from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and the
visitation will be from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m.. From there, the cremation will happen from 1:30
p.m.-2:30 p.m. at Windsor Memorial Gardens (1100 Division Rd, Windsor). Antim Ardaas and
Kirtan will take place at Gurdwara Khalsa Parkash Windsor (7955 County Rd. 42). For any
