Obituary of André Gingras

GINGRAS, André Joseph. It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our loving, loyal and devoted father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and son on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the age of 76. Predeceased by his beloved wife Raymonde of 44 years. Devoted father of Brenda and Ted Paquette, Andréa and Vinny Hayes, and Laura and Dustin Anderson. Incredible grandfather to Kyle (Anna) Labelle, Chantelle Paquette, Ronnie (Karly) Paquette, Reilly and Shannon Paquette, Jadyn (Joel) Abby Rose and Sophy Hayes, and McCallum and Declan Anderson. Cherished great grandfather of Brody and Bryan Labelle; Daymian and Maycen Makulski and Parker and Hazel Paquette. Beloved son of Mrs. Simone Bilodeau and Mr. Lionel Gingras. Brother of Colette Gingras (late André) and Gilberte Gingras (Marcel), Réjane Dunn (Ray), Céline Gingras (late Christian), Camil Gingras (Claire), Stella Bigelow (Gerry). Predeceased by brother Denis Gingras and sisters Florence Gingras and Denyse Gingras. Predeceased by Mother and Father in law Aimé and Thérèse Lebel. Brother in law of Ronald and Lori Lebel, Raymond and Dolly Lebel and predeceased by Diane Lebel. He will also be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family members as well as friends. André came to Windsor in 1967 to find work. He retired from Chrysler after 37 dedicated years of service in 2003. André was an amazing mechanic and anyone who knew him, knew that if the garage door was open you could stop in for a cold one and share stories and laughs. He enjoyed reading a great book in his sweet recliner. In between raising his three daughters with his wife he worked hard to get back each summer to vacation in his home town Latulipe, Quebec. Our dad enjoyed sharing his French-Canadian heritage with us, and proudly watched us do the same with our families. Dad loved story telling and sharing his passion for cars. His Dodge Ram was his most prized possession. Above all he enjoyed hosting get togethers and was always the life of the party. A special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus, 5th floor, as well as Hospice, for all of their kindness and care for our father. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Central Chapel) 519-253-7234, 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Monday, July 31, 2023 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Cremation to follow at Heavenly Rest.
