Obituary of Nikola Krznaric
KRZNARIC, Nikola "Nick"
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Nikola, a loving Husband, Father, Dida, Brother and Friend, on July 15, 2023 at WRH, Ouellette Campus, at the age of 87. Beloved husband and best friend to Marie-Perle (nee Riendeau) with whom he celebrated 61 years of blessed marriage. Loving and devoted father to Marica Krznarich, France Bohn (Mike), and Nicole Krznaric-Brieda (Michael). Cherished Dida to Lauren, and Nicholas Bohn, Mia, and Macey Brieda. Nikola is predeceased by parents Josip and France Krznaric, brothers Petar, Franjo, twin siblings, an infant brother and precious grandson, Max Brieda. He is survived by brothers Mile Krznaric of Windsor and Ivica Krznaric of Germany; and their families. Also survived by many nieces and nephews in Croatia, Germany and Canada. Nikola retired from Chrysler Canada after 36 years of dedicated service and was a member of Unifor Local 444. He was a faithful and devout parishioner and usher at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Church and a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Kardinal A. Stepinac Council #11774 and 4th Degree member of the Fr. Alphonse Kerckhaert Assembly #2289. Nikola will be remembered as a man of great strength and determination, and exhibiting a generous heart to mankind. His greatest love in his life was his beloved family whom he cherished and loved unconditionally. Nick enjoyed spending time with his family, playing bocce ball with his friends in Fontainebleau and going on his annual moose hunting trips in Northern Ontario. Our family wishes to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the staff on the 5th floor at WRH, Ouellette Campus for their exceptional and compassionate care provided to Nikola and our family. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234 on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree prayers at 4:15 p.m. followed by 4th Degree prayers at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 10:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery, St. Francis Mausoleum. As an expression of sympathy and to honour Nikola, donations to the Windsor-Essex County Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
