Obituary of William Dowdell
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 30, 2023, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 40 years to Emmie. Cherished dad of Matthew (Mikaila) and Shana (Jake). Proud Poppops to Kai. Dear brother of Charlene Small (late Robert), Bob Dowdell (Mary), Maureen Grimwood (late Alan), and late Linda Hilbert (late Ross). Special brother-in-law of Tessie Daite (Junior). Bill will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
In his younger years, Bill enjoyed photography, baseball and fishing. He loved playing racketball with his buddies and going out for pizza afterwards. In his later years, golf became his new obsession. Even more so when he could enjoy the game with his wife and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, gardening and spending time with close friends, the Barkada, exploring Filipino culture. Above all else, family was always his number one passion. He kept tabs on the entire family always making sure everyone had whatever they needed. He was a man of few words but had a heart of gold.
The family would like to thank the staff of Banwell Gardens for all their dedicated care and compassion. A warm thank you to Art and Myrna Roy and the Barkada group for your caring friendship. A very special and heartfelt thank you to Bud Metcalfe (Barb) for always being there for the family and spending time with Bill every day. For your love, selflessness and dedication to the family, they are eternally grateful.
At the family’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will take place at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E.
