Obituary of Elizabeth "Betty" Smith (nee Crowe)

It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Betty surrounded by her family at the age of 82. Beloved wife and soul mate for 60 years to Orville Smith. Adored mother to Barb Falica (Ed, 2019), Mark Smith and Bruce Smith. Treasured grandmother to Justin (Lawanda), Kristy (Tim), Douglas (Paul) and Mitchell. Great grandmother to Ocean and Chloe. Predeceased by her parents George Crowe and Elizabeth Arsenault and her mother and father in law Jenny and William Smith. Betty was a fantastic nurse for many years after graduating from Nursing school at Sarnia General in 1962. She worked at Toronto Sick Kids, St. Michael's Hospital, and both locations of Windsor Regional before finding her true passion in psychiatry at Henry Ford Hospital. She has over come many health obstacles in her 82 years but never EVER let it get the best of her. Her family was her pride and joy. No one ever visited at Orville and Betty's and left without indulging in a plethora of homemade baked goods. The family would like to thank the staff at Banwell Gardens for all their dedicated care, compassion, and continued care. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - Banwell Chapel, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Tuesday, July 4, 2023 from 2-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 11:00 am in the Chapel. Interment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, donations in memory of Betty may be made to the Brain Injury Association of Windsor Essex County.
