Obituary of John a.k.a Jean Vacalis

VACALIS, John 81 years. Entered into eternal life peacefully on February 6, 2008 to be reunited by his loving wife Fanny (2002) on their 53rd wedding anniversary. Born July 15, 1926 in Florina Greece, immigrated to Canada in 1954. Loving and cherished father of Mary and her husband Franco Quaggiotto and Christine Vacalis. He will live forever in the hearts of his grandchildren Paul and Sandra Quaggiotto , Michael Quaggiotto and girlfriend Martina Mele and Lisa Quaggiotto. Our lives will never be the same without our beloved Dedo. Predeceased by his parents Athanosious and Maria Vacalis. Dear brother of Fanny and her husband Jim Elovaris of Australia; Christine Vacalis of Greece and the late Jim and wife Despina Vacalis of Greece. Dear brother-in-law of Tala Neshcov of Toronto and her late husband Chris (2001), late Done and wife Luba Cincev, Filip and Ilinica Cincev of Yugoslavia. John will be sadly missed by many dear cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. His generous manner and story telling enabled him to embrace his family with love, devotion and laughter that will forever be remembered. John was a dedicated Dietary Supervisor to the residents of Huron Lodge and will be fondly remembered by his former employees and collegues as "Gean". Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Friday, February 8, 2008 from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Prayers Friday at 7:30 pm. Family and friends are requested to meet on Saturday February 9, 2008 at St. Nicholas Macedonian Eastern Orthodox Church (5225 Howard Avenue) for visitation from 9:30 am until time of Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Very Rev. Dr. Aleksandar Mustenikov officiating. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to Huron Lodge or to the charity of your choice.
