Obituary of Blanche Leontine Strong

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Blanche Leontine Strong (nee Van de Velde) peacefully on January 30, 2020. Reunited with her husband Gerry (2002). Loving mother to son Richard and wife Rosemary. Cherished grandma of Jennifer (Jamie), Lori (Jeff) and Michael (Bailey). Loving great-grandmother of Noah, Ava, Ella, Alexia, Jake, Spencer, Emma, Emerson and Aidan (2013). She will be sadly missed by nephews Tom (2000), David and Peter. Blanche was a long time member of the Most Precious Blood Woman’s League and sang in the church choir. She also volunteered for many years at the Banwell Gardens Nursing Home. Many thanks to the kind care givers at Devonshire Retirement Home in Windsor and Royal Oak Long Term Care in Kingsville. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) at 11677 Tecumseh Rd., E., 519-253-7234) on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 1-4 p.m. Parish prayers at 3:30 p.m. Funeral visitation will continue at Most Precious Blood Church (1947 Meldrum) on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. till time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
