Obituary of Christine Gilbert

GILBERT Christine ( nee Mukbel) Peacefully on May 11, 2008 at 93 years of age, with her family at her side. Born in Hasroun, Lebanon on March 25, 1915, Christine is pre-deceased by her late husband, Paul. Beloved mother of Cathia Riley and husband Tom; Bob Gilbert and wife Heather; Larry Gilbert; Lucy Sobczyk and her late husband Ed; Georgette Gilbert, Charlotte Rose, and her late husband Leon, Camille and late wife Theresa, and the late Charles and wife Rose Gilbert , Anne and Jim Assef, Julie and Fred Hello, and Barbara and Marshall Johns. Adored "Siti" of Christopher (Kristy), Coleen (Miro), Bridget (Zishan), Christine ( David), Patrick (Anita), the late Kevin (Tori), Anita (John), Ron (Betty), Gregg (Dotti), Bobbie (Steve), Kevin (Cindy), Ken (Betty), Margaret Ann (the late Gary), Bruce (Kristin), Jan (Don), Marsha (John), Bud (Marlene), Gary (Debbie), Cheryl (John), Paul (Rena), Rosemarie (Carl), Barbara, and Michael (Donna). She was blessed with 41 Great Grandchildren, 40 Great-Great Grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins in Australia, Florida, Costa Rica and Lebanon. Mrs. Gilbert was a Charter Member of the United Society of Hasroun, a member of the C.W.L. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, and Past President of the League of Mary.The family would like to extend thanks to the Nursing Staff of Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital , for their care and compassion. Visiting at the WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME 1700 Tecumseh Rd., East on Tuesday May 13, 2008 from 2-5 & 7-9 pm. Prayers Tuesday at 4:30 pm. The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 14, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church (834 Raymo Rd., at Wyandotte St., East), for visitation from 9:00 am until time of funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at St. Alphonsus Cemetery. As your expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the new Angioplasty Unit at Hotel Dieu-Grace Hospital, or to the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
