Obituary of Jean Guy Yvon (Ivan) Bois

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 16 2024 at 93 years of age at Windsor Regional Hospital with family by his side. Beloved Husband and Soul Mate of Shirley for 67 wonderful years. Dear and loving Father of Marie Langlois (Steve), Ellen Labadie (Mark), Peter Bois-McMullen (Bill), Lin LaPensee (Jeff), Mona Murphy (Henry) and the daughter of his heart Ann Plews (Jeff). Proud Papa of Gerry (Tina) Bois, Curtis Labadie, Tara Langlois, Ryan (Nadia) LaPensee, Kevin (Eva) Murphy, Taylor (Cody) Monforton and Kailey (Justin) McKay. Proud Popeye of 11 great grandchildren that he adored. Survived by many nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by all those whose lives he has touched.  Ivan was proud of many years of service with Canada Steamship Lines where he worked as a longshoreman. He retired from Huron Steel as a press operator.

Ivan was a supportive member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. #594 and Moose Lodge #1499 of Windsor where he raised funds selling 50/50 tickets for various charities and causes. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the beach and cottage, playing his beloved cribbage and hand after hand of euchre. Dad made a promise to God before marriage that if he had a home for his family and could provide for them, he would never stray from the Catholic faith - and he proved this by attending church faithfully his whole life and raised a beautiful family. 

Visitation will be held at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - South chapel, 3048 Dougall Ave.  (519-253-7236) on Friday April 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm & 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Friends and family are requested to meet at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church (2735 University Ave. W.) on Saturday April 20, 2024 for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
