Obituary of Helen Archibald

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and Grammy, Helen Archibald. She left us peacefully after a short stay at Hotel Dieu Hospital, the same hospital where she had enjoyed a 30 year career working with people she loved and considered extended family. Helen lived a long and fulfilling life full of travel with family trips to the cottage in the Bruce Peninsula. She always enjoyed a good game of cards with friends and family as well as bowling back in the day with Andy.

Though we mourn her passing, we find comfort in knowing that Helen is now reunited with her cherished husband of 45 years, Andy (2003), and her beloved daughter, Sharron (2021). She is survived by her sons Mark (wife Juli) and Randy (wife Carmen), as well as her 5 grandchildren; Joseph, Daniel, Jessica, Emily, Steven, and her great-grandson, Eric. She will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Shirley Archibald, her friends and her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Trembley, Dr. Jervis, and all the nurses for their kind, compassionate care of our mother during her final days. We are also deeply grateful to her neighbors, Barb and Orv Wilcox, for their care and kindness throughout the years and for watching over Helen’s beloved cat, Penny, while she was in the hospital...ity.

The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home (Central Chapel) 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. Windsor. Family and friends will be received at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 834 Raymo Rd. Windsor, on Saturday, March 23, 2024 from 10am - 11am, with a memorial mass immediately following at 11am.
