Obituary of Morris Ifill

Morris Ifill was born January 17, 1950, to the late Herman Ifill & Elsie Bushell. In Lodge, Georgetown, Guyana.

As a young boy Morris had a great love for sports. Soccer being his first love. Playing like he was a pro and emulating the moves from teams in Trinidad. His moves were so good, his friends nicknamed him “Trini or Trinidad” as we knew him. Along this journey Morris was blessed with his first child Tracy.

Morris later met his wife, Louraine Oliver, who he followed to Canada where they got married. From this union came a daughter, Chante. This loving union lasted forty-plus years.

As Morris got his new life started in Toronto, Ontario, friend Michael Moloney helped him join the construction Union, where he became one of the many men who helped build Toronto’s SkyDome now known as Rogers Centre. Morris was also a member of Guy Can Nine who promoted parties within Toronto’s Guyanese community. Morris looked forward to Caribana and Labor Day weekends, getting together with his friends from New York, partying, playing soccer, and talking trash with each other.

Morris was preceded in death by his wife Louraine. He is survived by Daughter’s: Tracy and Chante. Grandsons: Pierre Jr. and Parker. Sisters: Gloria (Judy), Janice. Son-in-Laws: Nicardo, Jermaine. A host of family, In-Laws, and friends.

Morris was a father, a big brother, a beloved uncle, and friend.
