Obituary of Nestor Santos Hocson

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 78 on October 2, 2026. Cherished husband of 50 years to Doris. Cherished father of Francis (Mandy) and Jennifer Nenadovich (Matthew). Proud Lolo of Isiah Angelo and Quincy Judah Hocson; Jacob Mato and Esmae Mercedes Nenadovich. Dear brother of Leonor Marfori (late Roberto), Corazon Ocampo (Gregorio), Narciso Hocson (Constancia), Eduardo Hocson (Erlinda), Evelyn Rivera (late Johnny), and Maria-Luisa Mosqueda (Antonio). Predeceased by his parents Guillermo and Mercedes Hocson, brother Honorio Hocson (Luding) and sister Nenita Veran (Gregorio). He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and extended family in Canada, the United States, the Philippines and Australia.  

Nestor was an amazing cook who was well known for his delicious Filipino cuisine. He loved to draw and studied architecture while living in the Philippines. Music was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. His favourite band was the Beatles, especially John Lennon. Nestor was also a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions, Detroit Pistons, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Above all, he was a devoted family man. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Windsor Regional Hospital – Metropolitan Campus and Ouellette Campus for their dedicated care and compassion shown to Nestor.  

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME – BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 5-8 pm. Prayers at 7:30 pm.  Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 am on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Our Lady of the Atonement Parish (2940 Forest Glade Dr.) Cremation to follow.
