My dearest Aunty Ji,
It is so difficult to put into words what you meant to me. You loved me just like your own daughter, and whenever I met you, I had the same warmth and comfort I felt when I was with my own mother. Being around you always gave me a feeling of home, love, and belonging.
You had such a beautiful way of making me feel special. You would always give me something—sometimes money here and there, sometimes a little gift—and I always loved accepting it from you. It was never about needing the money. It was the feeling behind it—the feeling that you wanted to take care of me, spoil me, and make me feel like your own.
I will never forget the time you gave me an envelope filled with quite a lot of money. I took it without even checking what was inside. When I reached home and opened it, I was completely shocked. I immediately called you and said, “Aunty Ji, you gave me so much money!” You laughed so much and simply said, “No, it’s for you.” That was you—you gave with so much love and never thought twice about it. In so many ways, you did even more for me than my own mother.
One thing I will always carry in my heart is your faith. You would always say, “Guru Sahib kirpa karange.” You prayed so much for Bharat and for me, always asking Guru Sahib to keep him well and bless our family. When Bharat recovered, you would happily say, “Guru Sahib ne kirpa kitti hai.” Your faith and your prayers gave us so much strength and comfort. I will forever be grateful for every ardaas you did for us.
And then there were all those little things you remembered. Whenever you went to India, you never came back without thinking of everyone. You remembered the children, bringing them little treats and things you knew they would love. You brought useful little things for the kitchen, a beautiful dupatta from your Pakistan visit, and so many other thoughtful gifts. They may have seemed like small things, but to us they were never small. They were reminders of how much you cared and how you always had us in your thoughts.
I could write so much more about you, because there are countless memories and moments that I will treasure forever. But I want to leave some space for others to share their memories too, because I know you left a significant mark on so many lives. Anyone who knew you will have their own story about your kindness, your laughter, your generosity, your prayers, and the love you gave so freely.
Aunty Ji, I love you, and I will miss you forever. Thank you for loving me like your own daughter. Thank you for every prayer, every blessing, every hug, every gift, every laugh, and every little thing you did that made me feel so loved.
I find comfort imagining you in Sachkhand, surrounded by peace and light, doing kirtan and being close to Guru Sahib. I know your love and blessings will continue to stay with all of us.
Until we meet again, Aunty Ji. ❤️
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.
