Obituary of Christopher James Jacques

Christopher James Jacques, age 66, passed away peacefully on Aug 9th after a 5 year struggle with COPD and cancer. Chris never lost his humour even through his illness. Born on September 23, 1959, Christopher was a great athlete, father, and friend. He lived a life full of meaning, love, and cherished moments. Chris was known for his kindness, laughter, warmth, and dedication to his family. He often lived on the edge where most of us are afraid to go. He never stopped making people laugh, a unique gift to all who know him.

Previously married to Dawn, he was a dedicated father to Tara Jacques and Abbey Gonzalez. Father-in-law and dear friend to Roman Gonzalez. Beloved by His mother Marlene Jacques, deceased father Edward Charles Jacques, sister Kathy Cronin and husband Bob, brother Rob Jacques and his wife Deb, and the late Michael Jacques. A loving and proud grandfather to Tanner, Veda, Leo and Sonny.

We cannot express the absolute heartfelt friendships that helped Chris get through his last 5 years. Paul Harrison a great great friend, Nancy Slater and Brian Hines, Dawn Mancina, all of which also sat with him in the hospital many times during his 24 day stay, where we needed around the clock observance, aside from their daily check ins at home; Gary Matte and Leslie; Neil and Kim Graves; Sandy P, and so many people helped us through the hardships and we will always remember them. He spent his years bringing laughter to everyone he met. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A unique character with a huge loving heart. Chris was also the favorite uncle of Deanne Jacques, his little buddy.

Private family arrangements have been entrusted to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - South Chapel. A Celebration of Life for Christopher will take place on Saturday, September 5th 2026 at 12pm at Cramdons Tap and Eatery (2950 Dougall Ave, Windsor, ON N9E 1S2, Canada)
