Obituary of Sharon Malec
Sharon Malec
January 25, 1945 – July 31, 2026
Sharon passed away early on Friday morning at home after a brief illness surrounded by her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Mitch, son Ken, daughter Kari, and her grandchildren Kira (DJ), all of Windsor, and Connor (Faith) of Surf City North Carolina. Sister-in-law to Helen and Keith Andersen, and Paul and Sharon Malec. Loved aunt of Lindsay Malec (Fil) and Matthew Andersen (Karly).
She was predeceased by her parents Rose Emery (1962) and Herman Martin (1947) and her beloved in-laws Bazel (2008) and Olga Malec (2024).
During their life together, Sharon and Mitch moved across the west – Calgary, Alberta; Prince George, British Columbia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Sundance Manitoba; Sudbury, Ontario; Paisely, Ontario; Gillam, Manitoba and finally back home to Windsor.
Mom was a school secretary, a receptionist, a legal secretary, and a medical secretary. Her sense of humour and kindness was legendary. There was always room at the table for anyone who walked through the door.
The house was never without a beloved cocker spaniel. Miles, the current spoiled cocker, is missing his morning toast with jam from his mom. Sharon loved swimming in their pool, gardening, crafts and a good laugh. She was always up for a trip. It didn’t matter the destination, as long as she was with her family. Many memories were made together in Florida, Mexico, California, Las Vegas, Cuba, Kentucky, The Carolinas. Paris, France.
Sharon's talents were endless. She could open a can of beans with an axe or make a perfect crease in your sleeve with her iron. She provided all the love and caring that a wife and mother ever could.
We will miss her every day and hold all these cherished memories close.
Thank you to the many friends and neighbours who visited and called during her last weeks. Your love and support will be never forgotten. Kira and Kari, Mom’s angel nurses, were ever present day and night to help her. Their very special loving care is so greatly appreciated.
