Dear Family & Friends of Louis Zanotti,
There is too much to share here about my cousin, Louie's genuine people magic.
Because it was perpetual.
It would be like trying to compress the light energy of a star into an engagement ring box.
But there is one apropos thought. One dealing with an ending that lives in music. And that's The Beatles last lyric of their final record, "In the end the love you take is equal to the love you make".
Louie helped me understand that through living example.
With deepest sympathy,
Jerry Piasentin

I've grappled to find the words.
Josephine, this loss is so profound to you, your family, your friends and the community at large. What a testament to this incredible man that in his short 64 years he has left such a void that will be felt in this community for many many years. Lou was a man of integrity and respected by everyone. He was as funny as he was loving and caring. May the memories of Lou's unmatched humour and light-hearted outlook on life give you, your incredible children and wonderful grandchildren comfort at this devastating time. I send my deepest condolences to all of you.
I will remember Lou for the man, the husband, the father, and the grandfather that he was. But mostly, I covet being his friend and the time we all spent together reminiscing about our youth and life's highways.
I know Lou was welcomed into the loving arms of his parents and those he loved that passed before him.
Sincerely,
Gina Marcon

It was very sad to hear about the passing of Louis Zanotti. We were in high school together and lived less than a block from each other. Louie, Mauro, Debbie and I formed our first band together called Ecstasy back in 1978 when we were at WD Lowe secondary. Back in the day as in the years that folllowed he was quite the front man and showman. He followed his dream and pulled it off as a great musician and entertainer. He will certainly be missed and it s great that his name continues to be carried on by the Big Louie band after he retired.
My deepest condolences your old friend

We are both extremely saddened to lose a dear and close friend. Our hearts go out to Josephine, Joseph, Alexandria and Patrick, and the rest of the family.
What a guy. So many people in Windsor, from the church, Fogolar, fellow musicians, and his good friends at Ford Motor Co. - he was loved by all. Big Lou and I have been friends for almost 50 years. We've played in the band for a quarter century. He was always there for me (Josie too), when I needed them. I hope I did the same. Nancy's family socialized with Big Lou's family when they were young, and the kids would all play together.
We always had fun playing in the city, southwestern Ontario, Michigan and Illinois. Lou was a perfectionist. Both he and I made sure everything was OK, from hauling equipment at 3:30 am, to socializing. We had a blast.
Big Lou and Josephine are blessed with wonderful, successful children. I remember when each one was born.
We both send so much love to his family.
As Big Lou would say.... "Luv' Ya Man" xo
Love, Randy Gorski & Nancy Travenetti

We send our most heartfelt condolences on the passing of Louis.
"Big Louie" will be remembered by many people for many different reasons.
We will remember him for his smile, his good humour and his music. Three generations of our family listened to and sang along with Louie during Sunday masses at St. Angela Merici Church.
We imagine he will be welcomed to heaven by a choir of angels as well as many others who had encountered Louis during their lives.
May the love and support of family and friends, and your cherished memories of Louis help ease your pain. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers.

To the entire Zanotti family,
My deepest condolences on the loss of Louis. A kind and gentle soul whose smile brought joy to many. His passion for music and willingness to help brought out the best in those around him. I knew Louis from singing in the St. Angela Merici Church choir along with his dear mother, Liza.
I remember the patience he had with the group of young girls who accompanied him during a Sunday mass and recall the advice he gave me: "Don't be afraid to let your voice be heard. Sing with joy."
The song was Psalm 122 titled: "Quale gioia," and its refrain was 'Quale gioia,' mi dissero, 'andremo alla casa del Signore...' (‘What joy,’ they said to me, ‘we are going to the house of the Lord’). I remember it as if it were yesterday and can still hear his voice and song. Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories. Rest in peace Louis, you touched the lives of many, and you will be forever in our hearts. Laura Bomben-Grosso

Dearest Josie and family, words cannot express the emotions at the loss of my brother Louie. I met him when I was 13 when he started working for my dad who became his dad. Louie was a brother from another mother and part of our family. Countless hours spent together working, laughing, eating and playing music. He gave me my first chance to play guitar in a band called "Tosca" with him. I played my first "professional" gig with him at age 15 for a wedding in the "Rib Room" at the Other Place. He gave me my first Rusty Nail that night. We played many gigs over the years and we had a brief run as a Windsor bar band called Ryder. I was only 17 at the time and not allowed to be in a bar, but somehow we pulled it off. Louie provided the platform and inspiration for me to pursue my musical interests and that led me to many great adventures in the entertainment world. I recall when he started dating a "Sicilian girl" who he was gushing about. When I met Josie, I told Louie, you won't do better than her. He remarked "I know, and she's TALL and beautiful... Over the last few years we exchanged weekly communication on FB sharing funny clips, recollections, and discussions about life and music. I will miss that exchange and his great spirit. I have no doubt my father was there to greet him with a golden pipe wrench. We were all blessed to know him and he will always be in our hearts. Much love to you all.
