Obituary of Sante Fabbri

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Sante Fabbri on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at the age of 96. He was the beloved husband of Franca Fabbri (nee Protani) for 57 years and the cherished father of Josephine Fabbri- Jaksich (Steve). He was the best Nonno to Amanda and Stephanie. We will miss him immensely.

Born in Poggioli, Rimini on June 19th, 1929, to Lucia and Giuseppe Fabbri, Sante immigrated to Grenoble, France in 1948 and then to Montreal, Quebec in 1956. He moved to Toronto shortly afterwards and began working as a welder which he continued until his retirement at the age of 70. He was seen by all as a very dedicated and hardworking man.

Sante really enjoyed caring for his vegetable garden and making wine every year which he continued well into his 90s.
His greatest pride and joy was spending time with his two granddaughters, Amanda and Stephanie. He had a great sense of humour and was always able to lighten the mood no matter the situation.

A special thank you to Dr. Obead Yaseen, Dr. Wendy Kennette of Palliative care, and nurses Vanessa and Teri at Windsor Regional Met Campus for their care and compassion.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 28th at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, Banwell location, located at 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor, Ontario from 5 - 8pm.

A private family service will be held the following day.
