KOURY, Charles Joseph “Chuck or Charlie"

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Charles on May 13, 2026, at the age of 55. Beloved son of Maher and Rima (née Mitias) Koury. Cherished brother of Natasha Kolonelos (Peter) and Lara Buziak (Michael). Proud and loving uncle to George, Maria, Izabella, Ethan, and Lukas. He will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide circle of dear friends.

After obtaining post secondary education in business, Chuck pursued his passion for the culinary arts at Stratford’s renowned culinary school. A very talented and dedicated chef, Chuck built a respected career working in a variety of high quality restaurants in Windsor and Essex County. Throughout the years his high level skill and creativity left a lasting impression on both colleagues and guests alike.

Beyond his professional life, Chuck had a love for sports, particularly football, both playing the game in his younger years and remaining a devoted fan throughout his life. chuck also had a love for coaching track and field leaving behind many athletes that looked up to him .

Known affectionately as a “gentle giant,” Chuck possessed a heart of gold. His kindness, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand were constants in the lives of those who knew him. Whether family, friend, or stranger, Chuck’s warmth and compassion made a lasting impact, and his memory will be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Chuck will be dearly missed.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235) on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 5-8 pm. Prayers at 7pm. Visitation will continue at St. Ignatius of Antioch Orthodox Church (1808 Labelle St., Windsor) on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 10:00am until time of his funeral services at 11:00am.
