Obituary of Lino Antonio Casagrande

Passed away at the age of 85 on May 6th 2026. Beloved husband of Shirley Jacques for 64 years. Proud and loving father of Lino (Cynthia) Casagrande, Michael (Jane) Casagrande, and Daniele (Patrizia) Casagrande. Adored Nonno of Nichole (Jacob) Bradley, Rachel (Mason) Grant, Claudia Casagrande and Nadia Casagrande. Cherished Great-Nonno of Oliver Casagrande, Glenn and Lillian Bradley, and Brooklyn Grant.

Lino was born in Codogne, Italy, son of the late Benedetto and Giovanna. He came to Canada in 1959, where he worked as a bricklayer and later at Chrysler Canada for 28 years. In retirement, he enjoyed tending to his enormous garden, wine and capocollo making, riding his three-wheeler, watching western movies, and listening to Italian music. His whistling was a constant reminder of his presence.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave, 519-253-7236) on Sunday, May 10th 2026 from 2:00pm-5:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Parish prayers at 4:00pm. Visitation will continue the following day, Monday, May 11th 2026 at Holy Name of Jesus Parish (146 Talbot St S, Essex) from 10:30am until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00am.
