Obituary of Marisa Taricani

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Marisa (Mancini) Taricani at the age of 78. In her final moments, Marisa was surrounded by the love and support of her family and friends on Sunday, May 3 before embracing her journey toward the gates of Heaven and into God’s arms, where she is now free and at peace.

A devoted mother, Marisa is survived by her three children, Lorena (Max), Sabrina (Frank), and Ettore. She was a cherished and deeply loved Nonna to Noah, Dante, and Massimo, who brought her immense joy and pride.

Born in Civitella Casanova, a village in Abruzzo Italy, Marisa lived most of her life in Canada. During her lifetime, she had a deep love for Jesus Christ and her family. Her relationship with God was the core of her being and the strength that helped her through her difficulties. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and making flower arrangements. Marisa will also be remembered by family and friends, including her best friend Livia, for the strength and compassion that guided her and comforted her.

While her absence leaves a profound void, her love will remain ever-present in the hearts of those who knew her and we find comfort in knowing she is now held in eternal love and grace with Jesus Christ. Marisa’s spirit will live on in the cherished memories she leaves behind and in the lasting impact of her faith, kindness and love. This is not a farewell, but a gentle transition into everlasting peace as her memory will continue to guide and comfort those who knew and loved her.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Ontario Health at Home and the caring nurses at the Erie Shores Campus of Hospice of Windsor and Essex County. In lieu of flowers, they request that donations be made to the Erie Shores Campus in their honor.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E, 519-253-7235) on Wednesday May 6th, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday May 7th, 2026 from 10am until the funeral service in the chapel at 11am.
