Obituary of Mirena Vujcic

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mirena Vujcic, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, on April 24, 2026. Mirena was born on January 30, 1940, in the picturesque coastal town of Senj, Croatia, to her loving parents, Milan and Ljubica Plivelic. Her journey through life was marked by resilience, love, and a spirit that left an indelible mark on all those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mirena’s early years were shaped by the vibrant culture and stunning landscapes of her birthplace. It was there that she met the love of her life, Milovan. In pursuit of new opportunities, they made the courageous decision to immigrate to Canada, where they built a new life and a loving home. They shared many beautiful years until his passing in 1997. Their union was blessed with a son, Robert, who, along with his wife Sandra, brought immense joy to Mirena’s life.

A woman of many talents, Mirena was passionate about gardening, sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Her hands crafted not only garments and decorations but also memories that will be cherished by her family forever. Her love for baking and cooking was renowned, and her kitchen was often filled with the warm aromas of traditional Serbian dishes, lovingly prepared for family and friends.

Mirena was a proud former member of the Red Hat Society and the Serbian Sisters, where she found camaraderie and shared her spirit of generosity. Her free-spirited nature, combined with a strong personality and a touch of stubbornness, made her a force to be reckoned with—a woman who stood by her beliefs and loved fiercely.

Her grandchildren, Stefan and Mikayla, were the apples of her eye. She found immense joy in their laughter and accomplishments, always ready with a hug, a word of encouragement, or a lovingly knitted sweater. Her generous heart was evident in her willingness to help others, a trait that endeared her to all who knew her.

In addition to her son and grandchildren, Mirena leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to their friends and Kumovi for their unwavering support and love over the years.

A private Funeral Service was held at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd, East, Windsor, ON) with burial at Windsor Memorial Gardens to follow.

Mirena Vujcic will be forever missed but never forgotten, living on in the hearts of those she touched.
