Obituary of Helen Lajoie (nee Poisson)
It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Helen Jean Lajoie (nee Poisson), at Lakeshore Residence on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at the age of 84.
Beloved wife of 39 years to the late Harry Edmond Lajoie.
Loving mother of Michael, Madeleine (Jim), Marc (Pam), Monique (John), Marie‑Jeanne (Pete), Marcella (Jamie), Melissa (Jamie), and Moe.
Proud and cherished mémé of 18 grandchildren and 10 great‑grandchildren.
Dear sister of Annette (late Paul) and predeceased by Roland (survived by Annette) and Francis. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters‑in‑laws Bernadette (Clarence), Cecile (Edgar), Rose Marie (Robert), Julia, Paul (Mary Anne), Delia (Norman), Peter (surviving Margaret), Joseph (surviving Gertrude), Walter (surviving Lena), Edna (Gilles), Monique, William (surviving Nicole), and Helene.
Helen will be lovingly remembered for her passion for baking, sewing, crocheting, travelling (especially DollyWood Tennessee), mall walking, and above all, for being a devoted mother and mémé to her large and loving family. She was a woman of great faith whose devotion to church was a reflection of the kindness and love she carried in her heart.
We are all so thankful for the many years our brother Michael cared for Mom, what he gave of himself was truly selfless and something we will always be grateful for.
We would also like to thank Sal for loving and taking care of Helen over the years and to the staff of Amica and Lakeshore Residence (Tilbury Manor) for their loving care.
Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Banwell Chapel (11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., Windsor) on Sunday, May 3, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
