Obituary of George Phillip Petrozzi
George, a man whose spirit and heart touched the lives of all who knew him, passed away suddenly on April 23, 2026. Born on October 21, 1941, in Windsor, Ontario, George was raised in Windsor where he went to school, became a skilled tradesman, and raised a family. He cultivated many relationships over the years that defined his character.
George is survived by his wife Marlene (Belland). His two beautiful daughters, Lu-Anne Nechitaluk (Fred), Partner John Whitehead and Lisa Crichton (Brad). George was known for being the best, most loving Papa to his grandsons Mitchell Crichton (Dana), Garret Crichton (Jenna) and Great-Grand (GG) Papa to Blair, Brooks, and soon Callie.
George will also be missed daily by siblings Don (Sheila), Beverly (Glenn), the late Jean Vaillancourt, Mario (Linda), Andrea, Michael (Beverley), James (Lynda), Wayne (Donna), Angela (Mike) and Paul (Aileen), as well as many nieces and nephews.
George dedicated his life to the skilled trade of sheet metal work, taking pride in the craftsmanship that his job demanded. He was a valued member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 235. He worked on many projects in Ontario, helping ensure they would last beyond expectations. He loved sports, travel, and time with family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel – Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh rd. East, Windsor, ON) on Monday, April 27, 2026, from 7 pm – 9 pm. Visitation will continue Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 2 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm. Funeral Service will take place the following day Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11 am.
Memorial Donations in memory of George would be appriciated to Windsor-Essex Hospice.
