Obituary of Lillian George (nee Kelly)
Lillian Luella George, a beacon of love and laughter, peacefully departed this world on April 21, 2026, at the age of 90, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on December 9, 1935, in Windsor, Ontario, Lillian was the cherished daughter of William and Cecile Kelly. Her life, rich with kindness and joy, is celebrated by all who knew her.
Lillian was a devoted wife to Kenneth George, with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter, and adventure, epitomizing the joy of being best friends and partners in life. Their union was blessed with four beautiful children: Mark, Judy (Will), Chris (2006) and Greg (Bryan), who were the center of Lillian's world. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support were a testament to her role as the matriarch of the family.
Lillian found great joy in her beloved grandchild, Jamie (Trinity), and her precious great-grandchildren, Jaylin and Jazmyn, who were constant reminders of the legacy she leaves behind.
Lillian's vibrant personality was reflected in her many passions. From dancing and music to her love of plants and nature, her zest for life was infectious. An avid crafter, she found joy in creating beauty with her hands, often sharing her creations with those she loved. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 255, where she cherished the friendships she made and the community spirit she fostered.
A woman of strong faith, Lillian was known for her selflessness, positivity, and the ability to brighten any room. Her love for socializing was matched only by her dedication to listening and supporting those around her. She was a pillar of strength and a source of endless warmth, with a sense of humor that endeared her to all.
Lillian's life will be celebrated on April 27, 2026 at Windsor Chapel - Banwell Location (11677 Tecumseh Rd. East, Windsor, ON) visitation from 10 am until time of Funeral Service at 11 am where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and share in the love she so freely gave. Burial to follow at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Hospice of Windsor, an organization close to Lillian’s heart.
As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we hold dear the memories of her laughter, her kindness, and her unwavering love. Lillian Luella George may have departed this earthly realm, but her spirit will forever illuminate the lives of those she touched.
