Obituary of Mary "Maca" Sladic
SLADIC, Mary "Maca" (nee: Sekula)
Born May 14, 1947 in Dubravcani, Croatia. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Mary on April 20, 2026 at the age of 78 years. Mary was a woman of great courage who most recently fought a valiant battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife and best friend to late Petar "Peter" Sladic (2014) with whom she would have celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. Loving and most devoted "Mama" to Jure "George"and wife Katie Sladic, Peter and late wife Chantal Sladic (2025), and Suzee Sladic. Cherished Baka to Reighna and Riela Sladic.Predeceased by parents Josip and Magda Sekula. Dear sister to Barka Frketic and husband Josip; late Mate Sekula, and late Mica Sekula; and all their families. Adored sister in-law to Branko and wife Maca Sladic and family. Mary was a faithful and devoted parishoner at St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church. She was a retired employee of Banner Metal. Mary was a true inspiration to her family and friends. Her unconditional love was the greatest gift any mother could give to her family..Mary's pride and joy was celebrating and spending time with her precious grandchildren. She will be forever remembered as a gentle soul by all who had the privilege and honour of knowing her. Visitation at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (Central), 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519) 253-7234, on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers at 7 p.m. Funeral Service on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Francis of Assisi Croatian Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Windsor Memorial Gardens Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to honour Mary's life may be made to the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
