It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Noémi Guindon at the Hospice - Windsor Campus on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Dear wife of the late Dr. Denis Dionne (1971). Loving mother of Eric Dionne (Kim Kovar), Dan Dionne (Ruth Kuras), and Gisèle Dionne (Brian Barlow). Proud Grand-Maman to her 6 grandchildren: Marlee Dionne, Nicole Dionne (Andrew Weizman), Christine Dionne, Alex Dionne, Jasper Barlow, and Marcel Barlow.

Dr. Noémi Guindon graduated from medical school at the University of Ottawa in 1958 where she met her husband Dr. Denis Dionne. She then did her internship in Dearborn, Michigan. She and Denis were both family doctors between 1959 and 1962 in LaSalle, Ontario. She was then admitted to a medical residency at Cornell Hospital in New York City. She proceeded to establish a medical practice as a skin specialist in 1964 in Windsor, Ontario, which she continued until her retirement at the age of 83. She was very personable, always enjoying interacting with friends, family, patients, and staff. Noémi’s life revolved around her family, her profession, and her faith. She was a proud Franco-Ontarian and a devout Catholic. Her many passions included travel, fashion, animals (especially cats), chocolate, maple syrup, and of course - the stock market.

As one of the few women to graduate from medical school in her time (and the only one in her graduating class!), she was strong and determined, yet always with kindness, generosity, and a sense of humour. She was a character in the best meaning of the word; honest and direct, sometimes a little eccentric, and always leaving a lasting impression. She was a wonderful mother and role model, raising her three children as a single parent upon her husband’s unexpected passing away at the age of 38. She was a proud grandmother, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren au lac, especially during the holiday season.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Windsor Chapel Banwell, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor on Saturday, April 25 from 12:30pm until 2:00pm. C'est avec une immense tristesse que nous vous faisons part du décès de la Dre Noémi Guindon, survenu paisiblement à l’Hospice de Windsor le mardi 7 avril 2026.

Elle était l'épouse bien-aimée du Dr Denis Dionne (décédé en 1971), ainsi qu'une mère dévouée pour ses trois enfants : Eric Dionne (Kim Kovar), Daniel Dionne (Ruth Kuras) et Gisèle Dionne (Brian Barlow). Elle laisse également dans le deuil ses six petits-enfants dont elle était si fière : Marlee Dionne, Nicole Dionne (Andrew Weizman), Christine Dionne, Alex Dionne, Jasper Barlow et Marcel Barlow.

Diplômée en médecine de l'Université d'Ottawa en 1958, où elle rencontra son époux le Dr Denis Dionne, elle effectua son stage à Dearborn, au Michigan. De 1959 à 1962, elle et Denis ont exercé la médecine familiale à LaSalle, en Ontario. Après la mort soudaine de son mari à l'âge de 38 ans, elle éleva seule ses trois enfants, tout en poursuivant sa carrière. Elle a été admise en résidence à l'hôpital Cornell de New York et a ouvert son cabinet de dermatologie à Windsor, en Ontario, en 1964, qu'elle a dirigé jusqu'à sa retraite à l'âge de 83 ans.

Comptant parmi les rares femmes diplômées en médecine de son époque (et la seule de sa classe!), Noémi était une femme forte et déterminée. Elle se distinguait par sa bonté, sa générosité et son humour. Femme de caractère au sens le plus noble, elle était honnête, directe, parfois excentrique, et laissait toujours une impression durable. Elle fut une mère magnifique et un modèle exceptionnel.

Sa vie était guidée par sa famille, sa profession et sa foi. Fière Franco-Ontarienne et fervente catholique, Noémi était très sociable et aimait échanger avec ses amis, sa famille, ses patients, ses collègues et son personnel. Elle était passionnée par les voyages, la mode, les animaux (surtout les chats), le chocolat, le sirop d'érable et, bien sûr, la bourse. Grand-mère aimante, elle chérissait les moments passés avec ses petits-enfants au lac, particulièrement pendant les fêtes.

Conformément à ses volontés, Noémi a été incinérée. La famille recevra les condoléances à Windsor Chapel Banwell, située au 11677, chemin Tecumseh Est à Windsor, le samedi 25 avril, de 12h30 à 14h. Une cérémonie funéraire aura lieu à 14h sur place.
