Obituary of Soledad Saclayan
Soledad Ramos Saclayan passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by the love that she so generously gave throughout her life. She was the beloved wife of Eulogio, her partner of 52 years, with whom she built a life rooted in devotion, quiet strength, and enduring love. Together, they created a home that became the heart of their family.
To her children: Erick (Anne), Ruel (Cora), Raul (Jeanette), Modefel (Aireen), and Gene-she was Mamang: a steady presence, a gentle guide, and a source of unconditional love. She nurtured them with patience, wisdom, and a tenderness that will live on in each of them.
Her joy multiplied in her grandchildren: Mheganne, Isaiah, Gabriel, Katrina, Allen, Joseph, Francis, Angie, Christina, Jeara, Janelle, and Justine. Each one a light in her life, each one deeply cherished. In her great-grandchildren, she found renewed wonder and happiness, their laughter a reminder of life’s beautiful continuity.
She now rests in peace, reunited with her beloved parents, Matias and Sabina, and her siblings, Genoveva and Damasa. She leaves behind a wide and loving family, including her sisters-in-law Leticia, Teresita, and Evelyn, and her brothers-in-law Maximo, Wilfred, Remigio, and Fidel, as well as the memory of Francisco and Ronaldo.
To many, she was more than an aunt, she was Tita, Nana Choleng, or Mimi, names spoken with warmth and affection by her nieces and nephews, whose lives she touched with kindness, care, and quiet generosity.
Soledad found beauty in simple things. In the garden she tended beside her husband, she nurtured life with the same care she gave her family. In every blanket she crocheted, every child she comforted, every meal she shared, she offered a piece of her heart. Her life was an expression of love in action; steady, humble, and deeply felt.
Though her presence is no longer with us, her spirit remains in the lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the family she held so close. Her legacy is not only remembered but lived in all who were blessed to know her.
