Obituary of Robert Joseph McIntosh
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Robert Joseph McIntosh on March 22, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on July 16, 1946, in the quaint village of Martintown, Robert was the beloved son of the late Anthony and Mary Ellen (nee McClave).
Robert's life was a tapestry of vibrant stories, woven with love and laughter. He was predeceased by his three brothers, Leslie, William, and John (Betty), as well as his dear mother-in-law, Cleta Holland, and brother-in-law, Richard Holland. Their memories were treasures he held close to his heart.
Surviving Robert is his devoted wife of 52 years, Valerie (nee Holland), with whom he shared a beautiful journey of love and companionship since their marriage on March 16, 1974. Robert was a proud and loving father to his daughters Stacey (John) and Karen (Jim), who were his pride and joy. He found immense delight in the laughter and accomplishments of his grandchildren, Addison, Scott, Ashley, and Jack, each of whom brought a special light into his life.
Robert's siblings Helen, Heather (Art), Archie (Gay), Stephen, Marion, and Stuart (Karlyn), along with many nieces and nephews, held a special place in his heart. The bonds shared with his family were a testament to his deep-rooted love for those closest to him.
A man of many interests, Robert found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was swinging a golf club, perfecting his billiards game, or spending winters as a snowbird in the warmth of Florida, he cherished his time with friends in Lake Fairways. A devoted fan of the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs, his spirited cheers were as unwavering as his enthusiasm for the stock market.
Robert was a natural storyteller, a man with a lively spirit and a penchant for humor that could light up any room. His conversations, filled with energy and a bite of sarcasm, were as engaging as they were entertaining. Above all, his greatest joy was found in the company of his beloved grandchildren, who he loved with all his heart.
In honor of Robert's memory, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Windsor Cancer Centre, a cause close to their hearts. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cervi, the Oncology staff for the exceptional support over the years and to Nurse Cathy (Paramed) for their exceptional care and compassion during Robert's final days.
