Obituary of Alan B. McCoy

McCOY, Alan B. 

February 18, 1941 – March 10, 2026 

On an exceptionally warm winter’s day “Big Al McCoy” passed into Legend. He leaves behind his loving wife and partner of 63 years, Janice (nee Gault). Dear and loving father of Scott (Cathy), Hayley “Bird” (Jay) and Jason (Sabrina). Proud grandfather “Pops” of Sara, Jayne, Nick, and Diana. Beloved great-grandfather of Brooke and Lexi. Alan was predeceased by his sister Norma McCracken (Lyle).  

He is a lifetime member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Essex Golf and Country Club. Al was detail oriented and had the most organized mind many have known. He enjoyed golf, curling, walking his dogs, a nice glass of red wine and spending quality time with his loving family. 

Cremation has taken place. Memorial Visitation will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 16, 2026 at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home – South Chapel (3048 Dougall Ave., 519-253-7236) until time of Memorial Service which will be held in the chapel at 12:00 noon.
