Obituary of Lori Samwell
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Lori passed away at 56 years old on March 7th, 2026. Survived by her cherished daughter Gracie. Beloved daughter of Ron and Judy (nee Hastings) Lachance. Predeceased by her grandparents Alfred and Grace (McNorton) Lachance and James and Lorraine (Roy) Hastings. Dearest sister of Jeff (Antoinette) and Regan (John). Dear aunt of Kyle, Luke and Bella. Survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was a longtime employee at Chrysler and retired in 2025. Lori battled cancer for eight years with many rounds of chemo, radiation and multiple surgeries in Windsor, London and Toronto. She fought as hard as she could to win the battle. She loved her family and our dinners together, where there was always lots of laughter and fun, along with good food and her brother Jeff's homemade wine. Lori was a kind and gentle soul but also strong and independent, never wanting to impose on anyone. She will be dearly missed.
The family is forever grateful to Dr. Howe and Dr. Schumacher and to all the medical staff at the cancer clinic and to the Windsor, London and Toronto Hospitals for all your kindness shown to Lori these past 8 years.
As per Lori’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private internment will be held at a later date at Ste. Anne’s Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Lori may be made to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation. Online condolences and cherished memories may be shared with the family at www.windsorchapel.com
