“Aunt Lucy” will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews as well as her many friends that have showed their love for her through an outpouring of messages over the years and most recently. All of these messages were read to her and soothed her during her recent health decline.
On June 13th, 1942, Mitchell Alban Gorski and Emilia “Milly” Veronica (Moskaluk) Gorski welcomed their first child, a daughter who would be known by all as Lucy. It wasn’t long until the arrivals of brothers Robert “Bob” and Edward “Ed” were being celebrated. Proud parents, Mitch and Milly, who were both born and raised in Montreal, were hard-working and entrepreneurial at heart. For 30+ years they owned and operated the Lake Breeze Restaurant and Dance Hall in Colchester, ON. It was during these years that, in addition to helping out at the restaurant in the summers, Lucy met her future husband, Ron. Together, they started their family in Harrow, ON, welcoming two sons, Steven and Scott. Eventually, work led them down the 401 to plant roots in Kitchener. The two spent many hours at the ice rink supporting their sons’ passion for hockey and took pride in their accomplishments. When faced with the unthinkable loss of her beloved Ron in 1985, she rose to the challenge and raised her sons without missing a beat. Later, Lucy would become a proud and caring grandmother who took heartfelt interest in her grandchildren’s lives and valued the time she spent with them.
Lucy will always be remembered for her dedication to her family, her lifelong love of music as an accomplished pianist, and for being one of the most genuine, compassionate, and kind-hearted souls.
