On behalf of Jackie Weber and daughter's Sheila & Lana, we are so sorry to hear of Lucy's passing. Lucy and Jackie have been life-long friends-- 75 years!!! They met in grade two and have supported each other through weddings, raising children and losing partners. Recently back in the same city, they've been sharing afternoon lunches and giggles. There is a hole in my Mom's heart that will always belong to Lucy.

Scotty, speaking on behalf of your friends (family) at Piedmont, I wish to offer our deepest condolences to you and your family over the passing of your mom. Although we only spoke a few times and I only met your mom once, I remember that I liked her very much. The pain of her loss will diminish over time, but it won't ever go away. Cherise your memories of her and know that you were a good son.

So sorry to hear about Lucy she was the sweetest person. We always had so much fun either travelling to Oktoberfest with them or staying at their place. She gave my younger sister Debbie piano lessons in her home. So many happy memories.. my heart goes out to her family. Ruth Vagi

From the time we were young and dating, Ron with Lucy and Ed and I, we secured a close bond that would follow us throughout our lives. It was never a surprise that after our husbands passed, we spent hours on the phone keeping up to date on all the family activities. You would never visit at Lucy’s without a large plate of goodies placed down in front of you. Lucy had 5star hospitality in her DNA. She possessed the best qualities a person could be blessed to have. I’m thankful to have so many fond memories. I will miss her dearly. My sincere condolences to her loving family.

From the moment I met Lucy, I felt her warmth and kindness. She had such a beautiful smile and an energy that made everyone feel welcome. I always loved listening to her stories, and she always took the time to listen to mine. She was truly a joy to be around, and I’m proud to say we are part of each other’s family. Lucy will always hold a special place in my heart.

When Lucy moved back to Kitchener, she was happy to have a lovely apartment with balcony at Westhill—she enjoyed making new friends and participating in the many activities that Westhill had to offer. She soon discovered that she missed her piano—went out and bought one. Her Westhill friends enjoyed her concerts. —and I was lucky to now have a birthday partner! Lucy’s birthday was on the 13th and mine was on the 11th; so, we celebrated on the 12th, always hosted by Jennifer and Scott. I got to hear about many of the “fast and fierce” hockey games and the exciting international travels with her sons—she was a true “hockey mom”. My heart is broken—Lucy was a lovely, kind “lady”—her chair at the head of the table will always be there. We love and will miss you.
