Obituary of Alberta Agostini

Alberta, "Alby," Agostini (Tolfa), aged 87 years, reunited with her husband Domenico (1976) on the evening of February 17th, 2026.

Beloved mother of Annarita (Pepe) Palitti, Roberto Agostini (Paula), Angela (Dino) De Simone, and Romano (Deborah) Agostini. Adored Nonna of Domenico (Ashley), Sabrina (Mikey), Francesca, Domenica (Mitchell), Connor, Kiara, Cristian, Noah, Massimo, and Giada. Bis Nonna to Ella, Mia, Ariana, Vivienne, and Banks.

Loved sister to Giuliana (Tony), Enrica, and Leonilda. Cherished sister-in-law to Romano, Mario (Liza), Pina (Alberto) Viola, and Liliana (Amilcare) Grippa. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family across Italy, Canada, England, and the United States.

Born in Supino, Frosinone, Italy, to her parents Augusta and Leonardo. She spent the first portion of her life growing up with her sisters before immigrating to Canada in 1959 to be reunited with the love of her life. During her journey to North America, she carried with her the strong values of family, resilience, and tradition that defined her life and shaped ours.

Nonna made each and every one of us feel eternally loved and accepted no matter how many daughters, sons, nieces, nephews, in-laws, or friends of friends there were. She made us all truly believe we were her “number one”. She spent her late years enjoying the simple joys; her Italian soap operas and being greeted by good company. Alby’s talent in the kitchen was a gift to us all. We always felt her love through her traditional meals, whether it be the savoury delicacies of her Christmas Eve baccalà, her homemade bread, or the sweetness of her jam-filled tostada and tozza. Her unconditional love and warmth will never be forgotten. We will carry on her spirit and legacy through spreading kindness, strength, and of course, her home cooking.

Family and friends will be received at Windsor Chapel Funeral Home - Central Chapel (1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. 519-253-7234) on Monday, February 23, 2026 from 12pm - 2pm, with a memorial service immediately following at 2pm. Donations in Alberta's memory can be made to Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.
