Obituary of Bora Apostolovski (nee Filipovski)

Bora Apostolovski, a woman of profound resilience, kindness, and heart, passed away peacefully in her sleep to join our Lord on January 21, 2026.

Bora’s life journey was a testament to adventure and devotion. Born in Vratnica, Macedonia, she eventually moved to Aachen, Germany. It was there that fate stepped in, and she met the love of her life, Jovo. Their journey together eventually led them to Windsor, Ontario, where they built a beautiful life and recently celebrated a monumental milestone: their 50th wedding anniversary.

Throughout her career at Magna International, Bora was known not just for her hard work, but for the genuine, lasting relationships she built. She was deeply respected by management and coworkers alike, many of whom became dear friends.

Upon retirement, Bora embraced the simple joys of life with a full heart. Whether she was tending to her garden, enjoying long walks, or meeting friends for coffee and shopping, she moved through the world with a warm smile. She was a fixture at the card table and was never happier than when surrounded by her family-and, of course, her beloved dog, Bailey.

Bora will be remembered most for her resilient yet gentle spirit. She was the neighbour who always reached out, the friend who was always there to help, and the heart of her family. Her legacy of love and her quiet strength leave an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of crossing her path.

She leaves behind a family who adored her: her devoted husband, Jovo; her sons, Ivica and Dejan; her daughter-in-law, Ana; and her cherished grandchildren, Olivia and Ashton, who were her pride and joy. Bora had 5 loving sisters, Zora, late Menka, Ubavka, late Koca, and Slavanka, along with a large, loving circle of extended family and friends. She is predeceased by her father, Slave, and Milica.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the compassionate staff at Tayfour Rehab and the Palliative Care Unit at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare for the exceptional care and comfort they provided Bora.

Visitation will take place at WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E. (519-253-7235), on Monday, January 26, 2026, from 3-5 pm and 7-9 pm. Prayers at 7:30 pm.
