Obituary of Giorgio Moretto

Giorgio Mario Moretto was born on April 19, 1930, in beautiful Motta Di Levinsa, Italy, and passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.

In 1955, with courage and hope for new opportunities, Giorgio immigrated to Canada. He made Tecumseh, Ontario, his home-a place where he built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and deep family values. Shortly after settling in Tecumseh, he met the love of his life, Georgina Steer, and together they shared many wonderful years. Giorgio worked for Sun Parlor Construction before proudly establishing his own company, Pacific Pools, where he built a reputation for craftsmanship, integrity, and commitment to his customers.

After Georgina’s passing in 2000, Giorgio was blessed to find companionship again. In 2001, he married Nerina Orlowicz, with whom he shared another chapter of love and partnership.

Giorgio leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion. He is survived by his son Geoffrey Moretto (Denise), his daughter Julie Sharron (George); his stepson Harley Cook and stepdaughter Sonia Ferreira (Steve). He was a proud and adoring Nonno to his grandsons Craig, Kyle, Cody, and Brendan, and a caring step-grandfather to Candice, Jacklyn, Kenny, and Dale; great-grandchildren Brett, Max, Sloan, Cooper, Austin, Emmett, Violet, and Daisy.

The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to good friend Joe, and nurses Filomena, Alex, and Angela for their exceptional care, kindness, and compassion. Their support brought great comfort to Giorgio and his loved ones.

At Giorgio’s request, cremation has taken place. A private family service and interment have taken place. Arrangements entrusted to WINDSOR CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME - BANWELL CHAPEL, 519-253-7235.
