Obituary of Antonio "Tony" Marro

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Antonio “Tony” Marro. Tony passed away on January 2nd 2026, after a courageous battle with Cancer at the age of 58, with his family by his side. A devoted and proud father, he leaves behind his dear children Dave and Nicholas. Beloved son to parents Linda and the late Costanzo Marro. Tony is survived by his dear sister Mary Williams and reunited with his brothers-in-law Garry Gagnier and Barry Williams. Tony also leaves behind his Nephew Ryan (Diana) and Niece Christina (Jacob), and many special Aunts, Uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony will be dearly missed by his special companion Kelly and many friends.

Tony worked at the Chrysler, Windsor Assembly Plant for 29 years where he made many friends leaving a lasting impression on all of them. Tony was known for his sense of humour, love of cooking (especially BBQ - even in the coldest months of the year) and his compassion for others. He was a car enthusiast, but especially took much pride in his 1992 Thunderbird Super Coupe.

Tony was a Windsor native who took great pride in his Italian heritage. He often expressed this through cooking traditional meals from his family’s region and by listening to Italian musical artists. A devoted history buff, he had a particular interest in Canada’s involvement in world conflicts over the years. Tony also loved to travel and was an avid cruiser, having taken more than 15 cruises in his lifetime—most to tropical destinations. Music was a constant in his life; he was especially fond of ELO and the Eagles, and in his younger years, he shared his passion as a DJ known as “DJ San Remo.”

Tony will be very dearly missed by many, and his absence will leave an empty place in all of our hearts.

The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit Team at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare for their care and St. Elizabeth Health, especially Nurses Kyle and Myja.
