Obituary of May Ono

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of May Ono at Windsor Regional Hospital – Ouellette Campus on December 28, 2025, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Murray Kayahara and the late Shig Ono. Loving mother of Evan (Arlene) Kayahara and proud grandmother of Douglas and Jim (Carrie), and cherished great-grandmother of Kory, Lucas, and Jordano. Step-mother of Steven (Colleen) Ono and grandmother to their children Jason, Kristin, Keith, Jonathan and their families. Dear sister of Jeep (late Kaye) Seki and Sab (late Martha) Seki, and predeceased by Tak (Florence) Seki and Tam (Kyo) Shoji. May will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She will be fondly remembered for her many years as a secretary at Empire Life, her love of travelling, flowers, puzzles, and jewelry making, and for her dedication to volunteering at Dearness Nursing Home in London. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held, with interment at Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham, in the spring of 2026.
